Growth, Resilience and Embracing Your Journey

Image
The image coming forward this week is from the Magnetize Your Light Coloring Book and the title is, You Are So Strong. This week the idea, well there are several ideas, and the ideas are that one somehow once we get good at some thing we can change it or it no longer is a problem. For instance, when are you gonna stop doubting yourself. Maybe there's a time in life that you get so good at some thing that you stop doubting, or maybe you get so good at some thing and you do something for so long that it's no longer hard for you, or that as life continues at some point it gets easier. But that's not the case, it's an allusion I believe we tell ourselves. Because this world, this lifetime, is all about growth, at least in my perspective. When I change my perspective to that, that this life is not something to be conquered, but to be experienced, it shifts my ability to try and hold onto something, or to control something, or change something that can't be changed.  Beca...

Embracing the Puzzle: Surrendering Control and Welcoming Change

Image
This week the picture is coming from me. The message that has been coming this week is Let go. The image this week is of open hand with a ball of light just above it hovering above the Earth. The earth in this picture represents the material world. The hand represents our control of our physical self or illusion of control, I should say. The light above it is what some people may call God, or universal energy, or consciousness, or source, or spirit. I personally believe all of those words are interchangeable.  So why is it coming forward this week this week? I have had some reminders that we/me are not in control of life. These reminders are subtle, thank God, it's not traumatic, thank God, because if you don't listen to the universe when it delivers these messages sometimes the messages can be pretty aggressive. Luckily this week they weren't aggressive. How I see them, these messages, or reminders I should say, that you/we/me or not in control.  It's so funny because ...

Embracing Consistency: Overcoming Doubt and Nurturing Self-Confidence

Image
Do you ever sit back and wonder what the hell am I doing? Like seriously what the hell am I doing in my life? And at your core you know what you're doing because it feels right, but somehow it still feels like you're not fitting in with the rest of the world? So you're caught in this juxtaposition between what you feel in your gut and the way the world moves around you.  The images that are coming forward today are different. They aren't sketches. They are finger paintings. Why the sudden change from sketch to paint, finger paint not less? Because the message that wanted to come forward this week was getting out of your head - remove doubt, trust and have faith in YOU. When I finger paint,  I get right out of my head. The tactile experience brings me right into my body, the moment, the idea that I am the follower of my intuition not the brain guiding it. It allows me to open up, play and not block myself from moving forward.  Get ...

Laughing Your Way Through Life's Ups and Downs: A Guide to Shifting Frequencies

Image
Summer is just about here. Everything is smelling good and is in bloom. This seasonal shift is a big reminder to me of how time passes. How everything shifts and it seems to go quicker when you are face to face with the constant change of weather. I used to live on the West Coast where the seasons and weather barely changed. There, life felt like Salvador Dali's melting clock. Warped. Slow then fast then slow. Here, in the Midwest, it trots along beautifully then aggressively, then beautifully, then aggressively in a wonderful chaotic pattern. Always different, yet still the same and bearing the obvious weight of time as it goes.  How do you spend your time?  The image that wanted to come forward this week is that of a winding path or road with the multilayered radiant sun on the horizon. The message: Remember to Laugh, You are always on YOUR path.  This is one of my favorite sayings. When I describe the meaning of this saying, I usually use the example of traffic. When y...

Deep Listening: Unlocking the Wisdom Within for Spiritual Connection

Image
Deep listening.  What does it mean? How do you do it?  In yoga, the sutras talk about the senses as a source of distraction for the mind. My interpretation of this, is that the physical body, our physical reality, is a distraction from our true nature. Our physical being is the largest obstacle to connecting or re-connecting to our true self, or to our soul.  The image this week comes from a reading and the message was listen deeply, intuitively. There is wisdom there.  This week all the feels wanted to come forward. What I call the feel-see, feel-hear, feel-know. This is how I describe in the simplest terms, intuition. Seeing with feeling not your eyes from deep with in your mind or third eye. Hearing with feeling, not your physical ears. Knowing with feeling in your gut from deep within your core.  Tesla has a famous quote that I love,  "If you want to know the secrets of the universe, think in terms of frequency, energy and vibration" As my yoga studies ...

Be the Good in You Everyday: Embracing the Good G's and Letting Go of the Bad G's

Image
This week, I'm featuring my daughter's artwork. This is a picture she wanted to draw and put in my workbook, Magnetize Your Light. At first I resisted her putting a picture in the book, but I'm glad I gave in. I think it's a bird? But I love her message. It emulates what I have been feeling this week and want to bring forward to you: Be the good in you everyday.  Admittedly this is not always an easy task. I hate saying that but if I'm being honest here it is 100% true. I was an angry-a$$ kid. For many reasons. Lots of emotions that I didn't know what to do with. In today's society I'm sure I would have been diagnosed with a plethora of issues number one being ADHD, which I was recently diagnosed with. This wasn't a surprise at all, being ADHD. I'm not sure if I'm glad I didn't find out till now  or not. If I was diagnosed when I was a kid it may have helped with focus, but maybe I would never have found yoga and meditation, which is how ...

Time Out: Breathing Through Life's Waves: Finding Balance and Inner Sanctuary

Image
Sometimes you just need some time to yourself. To gain perspective. Take in what you have done, where you have gone, what has happened in life. Time to asses, breathe, and regroup. An opportunity to shift your vibration to level up to the 2.0 of you.  This image is of a woman in the middle of the ocean. She is by herself in the water. Treading but not phased by it or working too hard to stay afloat . There is a peace about her as she looks back on the land where she came from. She is taking it all in. The small road through the hills just off shore. The big beautiful timeless mountains. The far away shore. The sound of her breath, the water and nothing else.   Man, life has a way of go go going sometimes. If you are not ahead of it, you are playing a game of nonstop catch up. Just like running around physically makes you loose touch with the rhythm of your breath, so does energetic running.  Taking the time to breathe, step back, reorganize the rythmns in you and realign ...

Finding the Play in Work, and the Work in Play: A Journey of Joy and Purpose

Image
This picture brings up something I've been thinking about a lot and marinating over. The message has been kind of ruminating around me and it's begging to come forward this week.   The picture is of a bouquet of flowers, peonies actually, in a vase. The vase sits on the earth or on the ground and underneath where the bouquet of flowers sits are all the flowers deep roots. The two seem as if they should be separate, but they are connected. As an artist    or creative person and someone who is spiritual I have always struggled on which direction to go towards, fully. The spiritual world is exciting to me because there is an endless supply of questions, curiosity, things to learn places and areas to grow.  It reminds me of the first time I went snorkeling. It was in Aruba, and it was like looking at an entire other world under the water. Functional, beautiful, orchestrated, thriving. Then I started to think about how what I was exploring in that moment, was just a pin d...

Courage: Sharing growth, love and creativity

Image
A rolling stone gathers no moss .  This image came from a reading. It was a heart with moss growing on the bottom but at the top butterflies were flying out. To me this image represents transformation. Growth. Love. And what happens when we share our growth instead of keeping it to ourselves. This image came to me this week, and it seems to be in line with the message from last week, don't hide. As an artist or a creative person, I never understood why people would create anything and then just keep it to themselves. Even if it wasn't perfect and yes, I did/ do you have a perfectionism complex which I keep attempting to shed...if you tech-savvy folk haven't already noticed. But the point is, well there are several points. The joy of growth or the joy of the journey is so much more important than the destination. As well as the joy that comes through creation, growth, through love is meant to be shared and expressed.   "the first law of thermodynamics, states that the e...
